Dr York has done a masters degree in skin cancer and is a founding board member of the skin cancer foundation of South Africa. She is very competent in the diagnosis and management of all types of skin cancer.
It is a good idea to have a skin check and mole map if you have:
•Been badly sunburned in the past
•Used a sunbed
•Led an outdoor lifestyle
•A medium to high number of moles
•Light skin and freckles
•A personal or family history of skin cancer

Molemapping
Mole mapping involves a thorough head-to-toe skin check plus a complete photographic record of your skin, which is designed to monitor for changes over time.
Research studies have shown that mole mapping is associated with the earlier detection of melanoma and the earlier a melanoma is diagnosed the better your chances of survival will be.
The practice is equipped with new, state of the art mole mapping equipment for monitoring moles and assisting in the diagnosis of skin cancer.

She is able to surgically treat all types of skin cancer as well as many non-cancerous conditions likes moles, seborrheic keratoses, skin tags, warts, cysts, lipomas and keloids. Dr York completed a post graduate fellowship in hair and scalp diseases in Melbourne Australia. She trained under Professor Rodney Sinclair, a world expert in the field of hair. During this period, she developed expertise in the treatment of a wide variety of diseases of the hair and scalp and has knowledge of the latest and best treatments available.
Some of the more common disease that she has good treatments options for include:
•Male pattern baldness / Androgenetic alopecia
•Female pattern baldness
•Excessive hair shedding (telogen effluvium)
•Dandruff/ itchy scalp/ seborrhoeic dermatitis
